The Fabiola portrait was very popular in the 50’s, you could find it in many European houses and in different versions, from oil paintings, embroidery’s to prints. Jean Jacques Henner (original painter) painted his portrait of Fabiola in a classical Roman profile in 1885.
Fabiola was a roman matron of noble birth who lived in the 4th century AD and became a patron of nurses and abused women, hence a saint.
