Atwood's Jaundice Bitters Bottle - 12-Sided

7int x 2inw
This is an antique Atwood's Jaundice Bitters bottle. It features 12-sides and has a O in a square on the base with 8 & 3. Formerly made by Moses Atwood Georgetown, Mass

True collectible antique bitters bottles are embossed with the word “bitters” or have a label with the word bitters in the name. From 1860 to 1906 bitters products offered alcohol when drinking was either illegal or socially unacceptable. Bitters were simply an infusion of herbs in alcohol, thus the names like "Liver Bitters" or "Hops Bitters." The bitters bottles were often in easily recognizable shapes… remember most people were illiterate so a distinctive shape was important for repeat business.
